Modems May Not Be Detected with ASUS Motherboards

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install a modem on a computer that contains an ASUS motherboard, the modem may not be detected. If the modem is not detected, you are prompted to manually install the modem. After you choose the modem from the list, there are no COM ports listed.


CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the firmware on the ASUS motherboard needs to be updated.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact ASUS to obtain the latest firmware revision for your motherboard. Please refer to the following ASUS Web site:
