ID: Q229081

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server

SYMPTOMS

When you view the network properties of a cluster server in Windows 2000 by using the "cluster net /prop" command or the "cluster network /properties" command, the last octet of the values with the associated name "address" display the number zero instead of the actual last octet of the Internet Protocol (IP) address or host ID.

CAUSE

This issur occurs because the "cluster net /prop" command or the "cluster network /properties" command returns the correct network ID or subnet address that defines valid IP addresses for hosts on the local network, not the IP address or host ID.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the "cluster netint /prop" command or the "cluster netinterface /properties" command for all network interfaces, or specify a node name and network name in the "cluster netint" command to narrow the list to specific network adapters.

MORE INFORMATION

For more information about the netint parameter of the Cluster.exe program, type cluster netint /? at a command prompt.
