SUMMARYThis article describes how to remove the joystick drivers that were included in Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 after you upgrade your computer to use Windows 2000. MORE INFORMATIONWindows NT 4.0 includes joystick drivers for the Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro joystick and a generic analog joystick. When you install Windows 2000, the Windows NT 4.0 joystick drivers are not removed and are not used in Windows 2000. To remove these Windows NT 4.0 joystick drivers, follow these steps:
joystick.dll joystick.sys sidewndr.dll sidewndr.sys For information about how to delete files and folders in Windows 2000, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type deleting files, overview, and then click Display. WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
