SYMPTOMSWhen GUI-mode Setup prompts you for the location of the installation media, Setup may be unable to locate the CD-ROM drive after you insert the Windows 2000 CD-ROM. CAUSEThis behavior can occur if you start Setup by booting from the CD-ROM drive, and then remove the Windows 2000 CD-ROM after the Text-mode portion of Setup is finished. The GUI-mode portion of Setup requires additional files from the CD-ROM to continue. If the Windows 2000 CD-ROM is not in the CD-ROM drive upon the reboot into GUI-mode Setup, Setup may be unable to locate the CD-ROM drive. RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, insert the Windows 2000 installation CD-ROM and reboot the computer. Setup should begin where it left off. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. Additional query words:
