SYMPTOMSWhen you mark a file to use offline, you may continue to read and write to the file on the server instead of the locally cached file. CAUSEThis issue can occur if you are still connected to the server that contains the original file. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000. MORE INFORMATIONDue to Windows NT file semantics, the version of the file on the server is always opened for read or write operations, and then the locally cached version is synchronized with the server version. The file residing in the local cache is used only when the server version of the file is unavailable. Currently, the only way to force the use of the locally cached file is to work in an offline mode. Additional query words: csc client side caching
