SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to install a legacy (non-Plug and Play) tape backup device using the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard, no tape drives are listed. Instead, you see the following message:
CAUSEThere are no non-Plug and Play tape drives listed in the %SystemRoot%\Inf\Tape.inf file, so no devices are listed. RESOLUTIONTo install the device, click Have Disk and select the .inf file on the driver disk provided by the tape drive's manufacturer. STATUSThis behavior is by design. Additional query words:
