SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to upgrade from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 on a Toshiba laptop computer, Setup may not continue beyond the Compatibility report. The Compatibility report contains a listing of hardware and software that may not be supported in Windows 2000. The Toshiba System Configuration Interface Driver has a red "X" beside it, indicating that the service must be stopped to continue Setup. CAUSEThe Toshiba System Configuration Interface Driver causes problems with Windows 2000 after Setup is finished. This service must be disabled before Windows 2000 Setup can continue. RESOLUTIONTo work around this issue:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this behavior is not caused by a problem in Windows 2000, but may be caused by design changes in Windows 2000. For more information about resolving this issue, contact the program's manufacturer. MORE INFORMATIONOn the Compatibility report, there is an option to view more information. If you click this option, the following information is displayed: This would be the preferred method of removing this service.
