SUMMARY
Network Monitor 2.0 includes six experts. Experts are tools to help you analyze data by using built-in parsers. These tools automate time-consuming tasks (such as looking for TCP retransmissions). MORE INFORMATIONTo use an Expert, click the Tools menu, or right-click a frame in the Summary window. The Experts are summarized below. Average Server Response TimeThe Average Server Response Time expert uses SMB, NCP, any specified TCP port (such as HTTP, Finger, and FTP), and any specified IPX socket to calculate the time. The response time is the number of seconds that it takes for a server to respond to a request from a client for data.Property DistributionThis expert gathers statistical information for the selected protocol property in the current capture, including the number and percentage of frames.Protocol CoalesceThe Protocol Coalesce expert merges data from frames that are part of the same transaction. A portion of data sent from one computer can be split into several smaller fragments to be sent over the wire and reassembled at the destination. The Protocol Coalesce expert provides a way to recombine frames.Protocol DistributionThis expert calculates statistics for the protocols used in a capture.TCP RetransmitThe TCP Retransmit expert finds all the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) frames in the capture that have been transmitted to the same computer more than once, and displays the data in the Event Viewer window. Use this data to find computers that are having connection problems with the network.Top UsersThe Top Users expert helps you determine who is using the network, or which computers might be causing a problem such as a broadcast storm.Additional query words: nm netmon bloodhound bh sniff sniffer
