SUMMARY

When you clear the NWLINK IPX/SPX NetBIOS Compatible Transport Protocol check box in Network properties to disable the protocol, you receive the following prompt:

You must enable one or more components for the following component(s) to work properly:
Gateway (and Client) Services for NetWare
NWLink NetBIOS

Do you want to respecify your selection? Click No to continue.

If you click No, Windows 2000 disables both Gateway (and Client) Services for NetWare and NWLink NetBIOS. Although the message is a warning message, it does not explicitly state that the components will be disabled.
