SYMPTOMSA client computer running the Terminal Services client software registers another Terminal Services License after the client's operating system has been reinstalled. You may notice the second license after you start the Terminal Services Licensing tool and select Windows 2000 Terminal Services Client Access License in the left pane. In the right pane, the client computer's name is listed twice with two different issue times. CAUSE
This problem occurs because a hardware ID corresponding to the client's Terminal Services License is maintained in the registry under: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing\HardwareIDAfter the client loses this registry key (for example, after a clean installation), the client computer needs to register a new license. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, customers need to contact the Microsoft Registration Authority and Clearinghouse. To contact the Registration Authority and Clearinghouse, call 1-888-571-2048 (in the United States).
