Error Message Claims That All Controls in LAN Adapter Properties Are Disabled

SYMPTOMS

If you have two or more network adapters installed in Windows 2000 and you view the properties for both adapters at the same time, you receive the following error message:

The controls on this property sheet are disabled because one or more other Network property sheets are already open. To use these controls, close all these property sheets and then reopen this one.

After you click OK, the controls on the General tab are disabled. However, the controls on the Internet Connection Sharing tab are not disabled.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
