COM Ports Not Working Using ASUS Motherboard

SYMPTOMS

After you install Windows 2000, the communications (COM) ports and any devices connected to them do not work. If you check in Device Manager, you may see the COM Ports are missing or displayed with a yellow excalamation mark (!) and a code 10.

If you add the ports manually, you do not correct the issue.


CAUSE

This issue can occur if there is a problem with the BIOS in the computer.


RESOLUTION
