Windows 2000 May Not Recognize Yamaha CRW4416S SCSI Drive

SYMPTOMS

After you install Windows 2000, your Yamaha CRW4416S SCSI drive may not be visible in Device Manager or My Computer.


CAUSE

Windows 2000 may not detect or install the Yamaha CRW4416S SCSI drive because of a firmware issue with the drive.


RESOLUTION

Update the drive to firmware version 1.0g or later. The update is available at the manufacturer's Web site at:
