SYMPTOMSWhen you install Visual InterDev 1.0 from Visual Studio 97 on a Windows 2000-based computer, you may receive an error message stating that you need to install Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.01. CAUSEThis behavior occurs because Visual Studio 97 Master Setup attempts to detect a registry key that does not exist in Windows 2000, so Setup assumes Internet Explorer 3.01 or later is not installed. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use either of the following methods:
