SYMPTOMSWhen a Toshiba Tecra 8000 or Portege 7020 computer is in Hibernate mode, you may experience a slow boot when the computer resumes. CAUSEThis behavior can occur if the Battery Mode setting in the computer's BIOS is set to Full Power. This setting is not set at full power because of a BIOS misrepresentation. This setting actually enables the PCI Clock Run power-saving feature, which causes all PCI peripherals not to run at full capacity until an ACPI-aware operating system is booted. When the computer resumes from Hibernate mode, the result is a slow boot (up to 150 percent longer than normal) because this takes place in the boot loader, which is not ACPI-aware. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, change the following BIOS power-management options on your computer:
