SYMPTOMSWhen you try to enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on your Windows 2000-based computer on a network, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSEThis problem can occur if the Internet Protocol (IP) address 192.168.0.1 is already in use on another computer on your network. When you enable ICS, your computer is assigned the 192.168.0.1 IP address, and if this address is already in use on another computer, the error message listed earlier in this article is generated. RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, disconnect the computer using the 192.168.0.1 IP address from the network, or change its IP address to something other than 192.168.0.1. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. Additional query words:
