SYMPTOMSIf you start your computer using a Windows 2000 CD-ROM to install Windows and you have installed a HighPoint UltraDMA ATA/66 hard disk controller, the computer may stop responding (hang) while the following information is displayed: Loading Machine Information.You cannot press F6 to install a secondary controller driver. If you upgrade from Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 95/98, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSEThis issue occurs because there is not a Windows 2000 compatible driver for the HighPoint UltraDMA ATA/66 hard disk controller. RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, use one of the following methods:
