SYMPTOMSWhen you try to perform a fresh installation of Windows 2000 on a disk drive that was converted to dynamic, you may receive the following error message containing one of the (enclosed) status codes:
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the disk's partition table already contains four type 0x42 (dynamic) partitions. During Setup, if unallocated free space is still available on the disk and then selected, Setup tries to create another partition, which is not allowed. RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, install Windows 2000 by selecting another pre-existing partition or free space on a basic disk.
