SYMPTOMSWhen you change the volume for an audio CD using the volume control in the CD Player tool that is included with Windows 2000, the volume may not change. CAUSEThis behavior can occur if you did not choose the preferred mixer device properly in CD Player. The original settings may be blank, causing the volume control to be changing the wrong setting. RESOLUTIONIn the CD Player tool, click Options, click Preferences, click the Player Options tab, click Advanced Audio, and then set the correct audio mixer and volume control.
