Terminal Services Fields Are Not Duplicated When Copying an Existing User

ID: Q243551

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server

SYMPTOMS

When you select and copy an existing user in the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in, Terminal Services fields (such as the Terminal Services profile path and home directory) are not copied to the new user account.

RESOLUTION

You can set Terminal Services user properties programmatically by using the Terminal Services Application Programming Interface (API). The WTS_CONFIG_CLASS enumeration type contains values that indicate the type of user configuration information to set or retrieve in a call to the WTSQueryUserConfig and WTSSetUserConfig functions. For additional information, see the "Using and Understanding APIs for Terminal Server" white paper available for download from the following Microsoft Web site:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
