SYMPTOMSWhen you are recalling a file from remote storage locally or from a Windows 2000 client, the file may continue to be recalled by the Remote Storage system even if you click Cancel in the Recall dialog box. CAUSEThis behavior can occur if the program that is opening the data "memory maps" the file. The memory manager in Windows 2000 attempts to access the file three times before quitting. RESOLUTIONTo cancel the recall, click Cancel in the Recall dialog box three times. (The dialog box should appear two more times; click Cancel each time the dialog box appears.) If you are recalling more than one memory-mapped file, you must click Cancel in each Recall dialog box that appears. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. Additional query words: rss
