SYMPTOMSWhen you try to change the name of a computer running Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and the computer is a member of a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-based domain, you cannot do so. RESOLUTIONTo work around this behavior, remove the Windows 2000-based computer from the domain, restart the computer, change the name of the computer, and then add it back to the domain.
