This article describes how to install the File Copy tool included with the Windows 2000 Resource Kit.

The File Copy tool adds file transfer functionality to the clipboard redirection feature in Microsoft Terminal Services. This tool can be used on client computers running Microsoft Windows for Workgroups, Microsoft Windows 95/98, Microsoft Windows NT, and Windows 2000.
File Copy requires you to make changes on the Windows 2000 Server as well as each client.
Windows 2000 Server
- Rename the Rdpclip.exe file in the Winnt\System32 folder to Rdpclip.pss.
- Copy the new Rdpclip.exe file to the Winnt\System32 folder.
For the Windows For Workgroups clients
- Copy the 16-bit Fxfr.dll file to the Tsclient folder.
- Rename the Rdpdr.dll file in the Tsclient folder to Rdpdp.pss.
- Copy the 16-bit Rdpdr.dll file to the Tsclient folder.
For the Windows 9x/Windows NT clients
- Copy the 32-bit Fxfr.dll file to the "\Program Files\Terminal Services Client" folder.
- Rename the Rdpdr.dll file in the "\Program Files\Terminal Services Client" folder to Rdpdr.pss.
- Copy the 32-bit Rdpdr.dll file to the "\Program Files\Terminal Services Client" folder.
