SYMPTOMS

When you configure an ATI Mach 64 peripheral component interconnect (PCI) video adapter as a secondary video adapter on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Windows detects the video adapter but does not initialize it.


CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Windows 2000 Server does not support the driver that the ATI Mach 64 video adapter requires when the driver is configured as a secondary driver in a multiple-monitor configuration.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000 Server.
