Cannot Change Location for Published Files in Internet Information Service

SYMPTOMS

When you install Internet Information Services (IIS) on a computer running Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, the Setup program does not permit you to install the 'Published Directories' folder in any location other than C:\Inetpub.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, change the location of the files after the setup process is complete.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
