Mkdir Command Does Not Work When You Use a Slash

SYMPTOMS

When you are using Interix 2.2 and you use the MKDIR command (a Unix utility used to make directories), you may not create a directory if you use the following syntax

mkdir dirname/
where dirname is the name of a directory that you want to create.


CAUSE

This issue occurs because you typed a slash (/) at the end of the command.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, type the following command:

mkdir dirname


STATUS

This is a known issue with the Interix versions listed in this article. This issue is scheduled to be fixed in Interix version 2.2.4.08.
