SYMPTOMSAfter you start the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Server service on your Windows 2000-based DHCP server, you may be unable to authorize the server in Active Directory because the Authorize command is missing from the Action menu in the DHCP Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in. CAUSEThis issue can occur if you log on to the Windows 2000-based DHCP server using an account that does not have domain administrator credentials when you are attempting to authorize the server in Active Directory. RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, log on to the Windows 2000-based DHCP server using an account that has domain administrator credentials. STATUSThis behavior is by design. Additional query words:
