SUMMARYThe Remote Boot Floppy Generator tool (Rbfg.exe) for Remote Installation creates a Pre-boot Execution Environment (PXE) emulator that works on a supported set of PCI adapters that do not have a PXE ROM embedded on the adapter. This tool is located in the following share on the Remote Installation Service (RIS) server: Servername\Reminst\Admin\I386 However, when you connect to this share from a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98 (or another down-level client) and try to run the tool, the tool may not work or may generate a general protection (GP) fault. MORE INFORMATIONThe Rbfg.exe tool is designed to run only in Windows 2000. Because only one Rbfg.exe floppy disk is required for all of the supported network adapters, you can create one of these floppy disks on the RIS server, duplicate the disk (by using Diskcopy or another tool), and then distribute the disk to the clients.
