SYMPTOMSWhen you start the Disk Management snap-in (from Computer Management or by using Diskmgmt.msc), you may receive the following error message:
CAUSEThis behavior can occur if the computer is in a workgroup and the Administrator account or the account that you are logged on with has been renamed. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, log off the computer, and then log back on. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATIONThis problem occurs only if the computer is part of a workgroup and you restart the Disk Management snap-in before logging off after you rename the user account that you are logged on with.
