SYMPTOMSA computer that is running Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, may trap with a "STOP 0x0000001e" error message, generally in Win32k.sys or Ntoskrnl.exe. The trapping thread is in the Winlogon process. The parameters vary, based on the specific location of the trap. CAUSEThis behavior can occur if a pool header for a pool that was allocated with the Ussy pool tag is corrupted during the loading of a user profile. The corrupted pool is located in the Winstation pool space, preventing the use of Special Pool to track down the item causing the corruption. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows NT 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, service pack
