Problem Copying Wingdings from Character Map to Wordpad

Microsoft Windows 95

SYMPTOMS

When you copy characters from the Wingdings font in Character Map to Wordpad, the characters may appear in the Times New Roman font. This problem does not occur with other fonts.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, select the characters and then change the font to Times New Roman. While the characters are still selected, change the font back to Wingdings.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
