The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSOn certain laptop computers running Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2), when a CardBus card is inserted into a CardBus slot in the docking station the CardBus card may not be recognized or configured or may not function. CAUSEThere is a hardware problem with some docking stations that prevents IRQs available to the PCI bus from being assigned to CardBus devices in the docking station. RESOLUTIONThis issue is resolved by the following updated file for Windows 95 and OSR2, and later versions of this file:
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with certain computers
running Microsoft Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2. A software fix to
this problem is in development, but has not been regression tested and
may be destabilizing in production environments. Microsoft does not
recommend implementing this fix at this time. Contact Microsoft Technical
Support for additional information about the availability of this fix.
