The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSOn certain laptop computers running Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2), when a PC Card is inserted into a slot in the docking station while another slot in the docking station is occupied by a CardBus card, the computer may reboot or stop responding (hang). CAUSEThis symptom has been observed with certain docking stations that use the TI 1130 PCI-to-CardBus bridge. RESOLUTIONThis issue is resolved by the following updated file for Windows 95 OSR2, and later versions of this file:
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 95 OEM
Service Release 2 (OSR2). An update to address this problem is now
available, but is not fully regression tested and should be applied only
to computers experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely
impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft does not recommend
implementing this update at this time. Contact Microsoft Technical Support
for additional information about the availability of this update.
MORE INFORMATION
This problem has been reported with certain IBM ThinkPad computers with
docking stations using the TI 1130 PCI-to-CardBus bridge with a Xircom
CardBus Ethernet 10/100 adapter present in the docking station.
