SYMPTOMSIf you are using an OS/2-based computer and you try to connect to a Windows 95-based computer that is using File and Printer Sharing for NetWare, your computer may hang (stop responding). CAUSEThis behavior occurs when the NetWare Requester for OS/2 queries for a list of mounted volumes, and the Windows 95 File and Printer Sharing service for NetWare Networks (NWServer) responds in a manner that causes the requester to continue querying indefinitely. RESOLUTIONThis issue is resolved by the following updated file for Windows 95, and later versions of this file:
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 95. An
update to address this problem is now available, but is not fully
regression tested and should be applied only to computers experiencing
this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific
problem, Microsoft does not recommend implementing this update at this
time. Contact Microsoft Technical Support for additional information about
the availability of this update.
