SYMPTOMSWhen you configure multiple network adapters to use the Microsoft Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), you may experience any of the following symptoms:
CAUSEThis behavior can occur if you use static Internet Protocol (IP) addressing on a network and then assign a static WINS address. When you do so, Dial-Up Networking defaults to the static WINS address instead of the address assigned by RAS, or Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). RESOLUTIONTo resolve this behavior, install the following updated file for Windows 95: Ws2setup.exe version 4.71.0030.1 (dated 2/27/98) This update is available from the following Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/contents/Updates/W95Sockets2/default.asp?custarea=pers&site=95&openmenu=downloads&highlighteditem= NOTE: This Web address should be typed as one continuous line.
