Desktop Themes Component Total Changes Randomly

SYMPTOMS

When you click Desktop Themes in the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel, the check box may be grayed (indicating that only part of the component is installed) and the description may read "1 of 17" components. The description box may randomly change to "17 of 17" components, and when you clear the check box, the description may read "15 of 17" components or "0 of 17" components randomly.


RESOLUTION

This problem is cosmetic only. Desktop Themes should function normally.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.


MORE INFORMATION

Note that the behavior described in this article does not occur with the retail version of Microsoft Windows 95.
