The Windows 95 Year 2000 Update provides replacement files to correct known year 2000 (Y2K) issues with the Windows 95 and Windows 95 OEM Service Release (OSR) versions 1, 2, 2.1, and 2.5 operating systems.
The following values are placed in the registry by the Microsoft Windows 95 Year 2000 Update (w95y2k.exe). Any future releases of the update that may be necessary will have a different version number, and will show up under a new key (different GUID beneath Installed Components): Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{6c5f5810-c55e-11d2-9213-006008b3ae99}Values:
