Copying Files from or to the Same Drive with File Manager

SUMMARY

In File Manager, if you click and drag files from one directory to a directory located on the same drive, the following message is displayed:

Are you sure you want to move the selected files into <DIRECTORY NAME>?

File Manager moves the file(s); it does not give the option to copy the file(s). (Note that this occurs only on hard drives, not on floppy drives.)

MORE INFORMATION

If you want to copy files or directories from one location to another on the same drive, press and hold down the CTRL key while you click and drag the selection to the destination directory. By doing this, you should get the following message:

Are you sure you want to copy the selected files into <DIRECTORY NAME>?

Choose OK to create a copy of the file(s) in the destination directory.
