Works 2.0 and 2.0a

When you enter zip codes into Works 2.0 database fields or spreadsheet cells, the leading zeros for zip codes will not display.

To make these entries show leading zeros:

  1. From the Format menu, choose Leading Zeros.

  2. Enter the number of digits to be displayed. For standard U.S. zip codes, set the number of digits to 5.

MORE INFORMATION

For example, the zip code 07654 will appear as 7654 in Works for Windows prior to using the above steps. After following the steps above, it will display all five digits and appear as 07654.

Note that because 9-digit (5+4) zip codes are treated as text due to the hyphen character, 9-digit zip codes will automatically retain any leading zeros.
