Top and/or Left Margin Decreases When Printing to PaintJet

SYMPTOMS

When a document is printed to a Hewlett-Packard (HP) PaintJet from Microsoft Windows version 3.1, the top margin on the first page is correct, but the margin decreases on each successive page. The left margin may also be incorrect. This problem occurs only with the PaintJet driver version 1.0 that ships with Windows 3.1.


RESOLUTION

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the PaintJet printer driver version 1.0. This problem was corrected in an updated printer driver version 2.1 (HPPJET.EXE).

Version 2.1 of the HP PaintJet driver corrects the following problems:

  • Margins on the second and subsequent pages are 0.5 inch higher than they are on the first page when the PaintJet is used.


  • When device fonts are used on the HP PaintJet, text on the second and subsequent pages prints all on one line.
