Setting and Saving the Terminal Screen Buffer

This article describes how to save text in the Terminal window and how to set the screen buffer.

Choosing Save from the Terminal File menu will not save the text on the screen. To save the text on the screen, the text must first be selected and copied into the Clipboard. This text may then be pasted into a text editor such as Write or Notepad and saved for later use.

To save text on a Terminal screen, do the following:

  1. Highlight the desired text.


  2. From the Edit menu, choose Copy.


  3. Open a text editor such as Write or Notepad.


  4. From the Edit menu, choose Paste.


  5. From the File menu, choose Save.


To set the buffer size for Terminal, choose Terminal Preferences from the Settings menu. The valid range for the Buffer Lines setting is between 25-399 lines of text.
