  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 4.0, 5.0
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a, 6.0c

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Windows Canon Bubble-Jet 10e printer driver (CANON10E.DRV) and print to legal-size paper, applications attempt to print landscape orientation in portrait and vice versa.

For example, if you try print a spreadsheet in version 4.0 of Microsoft Excel for Windows in portrait orientation, the printout is in landscape orientation, and may contain unreadable ("garbage") characters.

This behavior may also occur when you print to the Canon Bubble-Jet BJ20 printer.

WORKAROUND

Use either of the following methods to work around this problem:

  • Use the Canon Bubble-Jet 130e (CANON130.DRV) driver for legal-size paper.

  • Use Control Panel to set a custom size for the paper at 8.5" x 14". You must set the value in hundredths of an inch as 850 x 1400. Use this size in your application instead of the default Legal Size page.
