Header Does Not Print on Citizen 200GX or 200GX/15

ID: Q85931

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows versions 3.1, 3.11
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a

SYMPTOMS

If you are running version 2.0 or 2.0a of Microsoft Word for Windows with Microsoft Windows version 3.1 and your active printer driver is the Citizen 200GX and 200GX/15 driver (CIT9US.DRV), header text may not print completely.

CAUSE

The top margin setting is too small. The Citizen printer driver version 1.0 for the 200GX and 200GX/15 printers, which ships with Windows 3.1, has a minimum top margin of 0.87 inch. If you create a header formatted for a top margin of 1 inch in a Word for Windows document, the first two to three lines of the header do not print.

WORKAROUND

To print a header in a Word for Windows document to a Citizen 200GX or 200GX/15 printer, adjust the Distance From Edge and Top Margin settings with the following steps:

  1. From the View menu, choose Normal. From the View menu, choose Header/Footer. Select Header.

  2. Under From Edge, type a value of .87 inch or greater in the Header box, and choose the OK button.

  3. In the header pane, type the header information, and choose the Close button.

  4. From the Format menu, choose Page Setup, and select the Margins option button. Type a value of 1.1 inches or greater in the Top Margin box, and choose the OK button.

  5. From the File menu, choose Print Preview. If the header text is too close to the document text, you may need to increase the value of the Top Margin setting in step 4.
