Windows 3.0 Does Not Support Persistent Connections

SYMPTOMS

Network printer and drive connections made within the Windows 3.0 and 3.0a Control Panel and File Manager are not saved or automatically reconnected between Windows sessions.


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem

  • Add the desired net connections to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file or logon script.

    -or-


  • Upgrade Windows to Windows 3.1, which supports this functionality on most of the supported networks.

    -or-


  • Upgrade your network software to a version that allows this functionality.
