SUMMARY
Multiple directories can be copied or deleted quickly using File Manager in
Microsoft Windows. The selection of directories to be copied or deleted can
only be made from the directory window in Windows versions 3.0 and 3.0a, or
from the contents list in the right half of the Windows 3.1 directory
window. Multiple directories cannot be selected from the directory tree.

To copy or delete multiple directories using File Manager in Microsoft
Windows version 3.0 or 3.0a:
- Select the drive that contains the desired directories.
- From the directory tree, double-click either the root directory
icon or the icon of the directory containing the subdirectories to
be copied or deleted.
- If the subdirectories are in sequential order, select the first
directory, hold down the SHIFT key, and select the last directory.
- To select subdirectories not in sequential order, hold down the
CTRL key and highlight each desired subdirectory.
- The directories may then be copied or deleted using the options in
the File menu.
Windows 3.1
To copy or delete multiple directories using File Manager in Microsoft
Windows version 3.1:
- Select either the root directory icon or the icon of a directory
containing the subdirectories to be copied or deleted.
- A contents list appears in the right half of the directory window.
If the subdirectories are in sequential order, select the first
directory, hold down the SHIFT key, and select the last directory.
- To select subdirectories not in sequential order, hold down the
CTRL key, and highlight each desired subdirectory.
- The directories may then be copied or deleted using the options in
the File menu.
