HP IIIsi Printer Setup Creates GP Fault on 286 with Low Memory

SYMPTOMS

Choosing the Setup button in the Printers dialog box may generate a general protection (GP) fault under the following circumstances:

• You are using a 80286 computer.



• You are using the Hewlett-Packard (HP) IIIsi printer driver HPPCL5.DRV dated 10/08/92 and found on the Windows Driver Library.



• Your computer has low system memory.

WORKAROUND

To configure this printer driver, close all Windows applications, restart Windows, then try choosing the Setup button again.
