The Microsoft HPPCL5MS.DRV printer driver supplied with Windows for
Workgroups version 3.1 completely replaces the HPPCL5A.DRV printer
driver shipped with Windows version 3.1. All LaserJet Series III
printers can use the HPPCL5MS driver. HPPCL5MS.DRV uses version 3.1.2
of the Windows Universal Printer Driver because it supports scalable
fonts.
HPPCL5A.DRV (Version 31.3.89)From the Gray Scale list, choose the LineArt Images, Photographic Images, or HP ScanJet Image option, and choose the OK button three times.HPPCL5MS.DRV (Version 2.0)In the Options dialog box, select an Intensity and Dithering setting and choose the OK button three times. To adjust the Intensity control, drag the thumb between the Lighter and Darker setting (Darker corresponds to 0 percent and Lighter corresponds to 100 percent).Note: The Intensity and Dithering controls are features of the Universal Printer Driver.
