SYMPTOMS

If you embed an object icon created in Windows Object Packager and print it to any PostScript printer using the Windows PostScript printer driver (PSCRIPT.DRV), the object icon prints as a black box. This problem has been reproduced with PSCRIPT.DRV versions 3.5, 3.52, and 3.53 printing Object Packager icons from Microsoft Windows Write, Word for Windows, and Microsoft Excel for Windows.

If you print to any non-PostScript printer, the icon prints correctly.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Open Microsoft Windows Write.

  2. From the Edit menu, choose Insert Object. Under Object Type, select Package, then choose the OK button.

  3. In Windows Object Packager, choose Import from the File menu. Select a text file, such as SETUP.TXT, and choose the OK button.

  4. From the File menu, choose Exit. Choose the Yes button when Object Packager prompts you to update the document. An Object Packager icon should appear in your Write document.

  5. Print the document to any PostScript printer using the Windows PostScript printer driver.

Notice that the icon prints as a black square instead of a bitmap.
