Setting Emulation Modes on Panasonic KX-P1123 Printer

The following are the emulation modes for the Panasonic KX-P1123 printer.

Epson LQ-850

Epson LQ-850 Italic
Epson LQ-850 Graphic Set 2

IBM Proprinter X24

IBM X24 Graphic Set 1
IBM X24 Graphic Set 2

The default emulation mode for the Panasonic KX-P1123 is the Epson LQ-850 Italic mode. This emulation does not support the extended character set (that is, single and double box outlines, and Greek characters).

Use the following procedure to set the emulation modes on the Panasonic KX-P1123 printer:

All Emulation Modes

To activate the initial setup mode, do the following;

Turn the printer off.

Press and hold the FUNCTION key on the printer.

Turn the printer on.

Release the FUNCTION key. At this point, the Font, Form/Length, and Others LEDs are lit.

NOTE: The Online light begins flashing, which indicates that you are in the initial setup mode.

Press the Online button to print the current emulation.

Continue with the instructions below for your emulation mode.

Epson LQ-850 (Italic)

NOTE: Use these instructions to reset the default emulation mode.

Press the ROW button until Row1 is lit.

Press the COLUMN button until Col1 is lit.

Press the SET button.

Press the FUNCTION button.

Epson LQ-850 (Graphic Set 2)

Press the ROW button until Row1 is lit.

Press the COLUMN button until Col2 is lit.

Press the SET button.

Press the FUNCTION button.

IBM Proprinter X24 (Graphic Set 1)

Press the ROW button until Row1 is lit.

Press the COLUMN button until Col3 is lit.

Press the SET button.

Press the FUNCTION button.

IBM Proprinter X24 (Graphic Set 2)

Press the ROW button until Row1 is lit.

Press the COLUMN button until Col4 is lit.

Press the SET button.

Press the FUNCTION button

NOTE: When the printer is turned on, the Font and Program LEDs are always lit, regardless of the emulation.

Windows version 3.0 does not supply any Panasonic printer drivers; therefore, you must always set an emulation to print from Windows 3.0.

Windows version 3.1 supplies a Panasonic KX-P1123 printer driver. When you use this driver, set the Epson LQ-850 Italic emulation mode.

IBM OS/2 version 2.0 supplies a Windows version 3.0 emulation package; therefore, you should follow the above instructions for Windows 3.0 to print from a Windows-OS/2 session.
