SYMPTOMSMicrosoft Windows 95/98 does not have the capability to print to a printer on a machine running UNIX only. RESOLUTIONIf the printer is on a Microsoft Windows NT 3.5 server or a Novell NetWare server that is also running UNIX, you should be able to print to it. For example, if your printer supports line printer daemon (LPD), you can print to it through Microsoft Windows NT Server or Workstation version 3.5 using LPRMON. (A daemon is a background process in UNIX terminology.) You can then use NT to share the printer to Windows 95 clients. You can also use NT's LPDSRV to give UNIX machines access to locally attached printers. MORE INFORMATIONFor more information about using Windows NT, consult your Windows NT "User's Guide," Help, or local reseller. Additional query words: 3rdparty
